Vegan Life Live Exhibtion

This weekend, I had the pleasure of exploring the Vegan Life Live exhibition at Event City, Manchester. I had never been before so I was unsure what to expect. My new MS defeating diet is not vegan, but I was hoping to pick up some ideas that were dairy-free. I was most impressed that a lot of the products on offer were also gluten-free and refined sugar-free. I was in heaven!

Me and my mum were going to grab some lunch while we were at the exhibition but we sampled so many nice things while we walked round the exhibition hall that we were full by the end of it!

I wanted to write a blog post to showcase some of the amazing products I bought.

Firstly, we sampled some new flavours of Nairn crackers. I eat a fair amount of Nairn’s gluten free crackers so I was excited to try some new flavours. I came away with some gluten-free flatbread boxes, which were launched last Autumn. They are so nice with peanut butter, or alongside soup or salads. I may have finished off a box of them already! We bought a bag of Snackers in each flavour to try and was given some yummy freebies too!

Next, we have the very yummy Conscious Chocolate: organic, raw, dairy-free chocolate. There were many different flavours to try, and different levels of cocoa intensity which was very interesting. It took a long time to decide which flavours to buy! In the end, I settled on the peppermint and the nutty bars, but I could have easily had one of each! It is dairy-free, gluten-free, refined sugar-free, sweetened with agave nectar instead. I cannot wait to try this chocolate in some cookie recipes I have found.

Last but definitely not least, we have the amazing Pudology. I had never heard of this company before but I had spotted their name in the guide book and was looking forward to bumping into them. Especially as they are a local company. And boy was I impressed. Their recipes are all dairy-free and gluten-free and are the most amazing flavours. I sampled the Banoffee Pie and the Chocolate Pud. I got excited at the thought of the Millionaire’s Shortbread one but it had sold out already! That says it all!

Even better, Pudology have just launched a ‘skinny’ range that have no sugar in them, as well as being gluten and dairy-free! It’s like they were made with me in mind! I was very silly and did not buy the pots I wanted while I was at the stall. I came back about 2 hours later and the shelves at Pudology were bare! I was able to pick up 3 packets of the beautifully fresh and creamy Lemon and Yuzu Puds, which I sampled there. I was very lucky to get them! I felt like everyone knew this amazing secret but me! But now I do, and I am very excited about it.
